2008 Season Tours

Thirteen Years Of Offering The Best Tours
Come Celebrate Our Thirteenth Year

Dear Fellow Travelers,

As GUIDED TOURS UNLIMITED, INC. enters its thirteenth year, its aim continues  to be offering one-of-a-kind, thoroughly-researched tours that are guaranteed to be exciting and enjoyable leisure time activities as well as rewarding and stimulating educational experiences.

Each tour will once again include deluxe motorcoach transportation, admissions to listed sites, most lunches, services of professional tour guides, and all taxes and gratuities per itinerary.

Departure points will remain at The Central Bucks Administration Building, 16 Welden Drive, Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and The New Hope-Solebury High School, 180 West Bridge Street, New Hope, Pennsylvania.

Our tours in 2007 covered a wide assortment of choices—from visiting four mansions along the Delaware River to cruising the Susquehanna on a paddle wheeler, from a moving and intimate tribute to the heroes of 9/11 to a glimpse into life during Egypt’s Golden Age of the Pharaohs, from Manhattan’s macabre Greenwich Village to Brooklyn’s beautiful orchid show, and from feasting on Williamsport Millionaires’ Row to dining during the holiday season on St. Michaels, Maryland’s waterfront.

We now look forward to the spring and summer tours of 2008. This time emphasis has been placed on house and garden tours that encompass four states.  Our tour season opens on April 26 as we appropriately travel to the Garden State to usher in the beauty of spring at some of New Jersey’s most celebrated public gardens.  On May 3, we visit three of Maryland’s most celebrated treasures, and, on May 17 you have the opportunity to journey into the heart of Pennsylvania’s capital for a private tour of the Capitol, with its “House of Representatives.”  The legacy of Philadelphia’s Morris family is the topic of the June 7 tour highlighted by a stroll through a formal rose garden designed in 1888.  The season ends with an especially arranged overnight tour to four of Virginia’s most renown plantations.

The fall season begins in October with two tours.  On October 4, by request, we again offer the Native American tour of "Dreams and Visions," and on October 18 we visit  two of Maryland's  most haunted cities.  November 1 we travel to Bridgeville, Delaware, to attend the World Championship Punkin' Chunkin' competition, and on December 6 we travel to Odessa, Delaware, for the forty-fourth annual holiday house tour.

In closing, many thanks to the hundreds of devoted travelers who have supported
GUIDED TOURS UNLIMITED, INC. during the past twelve years and to those of you who will be joining us in the near future.

Sincerely,
Larry Weikel, Tour Director
